A review of the previous
Rotary Club of Fayetteville
As the Rotary year comes to a close, we pause to reflect with gratitude and pride on the many ways our club has served, connected, and grown throughout 2024–2025.
Under the thoughtful leadership of President Shawn Elzie, the Rotary Club of Fayetteville remained committed to Rotary’s core values — fellowship, service, integrity, and leadership — making a meaningful impact both locally and throughout our district.
We continued planning one of our most anticipated events: the Senior Citizen Prom, a joyful evening dedicated to honoring and uplifting our elder neighbors. We are still seeking sponsors to help make this event unforgettable — please reach out if you'd like to support!
Partnered with the Friends of the Fayette County Public Library to host meetings and collaborate on service projects throughout the year.
Volunteered at the Midwest Food Bank, working together to fight hunger and distribute critical food supplies to families in need across Georgia.
Sponsored four inspiring students to attend the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA):
– Kai Kinard (The Forest School)
– Zoe Kinard (The Forest School)
– Gabrielle Johnson (Sandy Creek High School)
– Samira Eldawi (Whitewater High School)
These students will share what they learned about leadership and service at an upcoming club meeting.
Increased our public image presence through active social media engagement, consistent community updates, and storytelling that reflects the spirit of People of Action.
Welcomed new members into leadership and service, including:
– Benardo Sellers, Treasurer
– Dominique Downing
– Laura Weishaar (also serving as Public Image Chair)
Introduced new officer roles, including Community Events Chair and New Generations Chair, to support outreach and youth engagement.
As we pass the gavel to incoming President Vickie Butler, we look forward to continuing our momentum under the 2025–2026 Rotary International theme: “Unite for Good.” With District Governor Steve Ivory’s guidance and the principles of the Rotary Action Plan, we’re ready to:
Grow our impact
Expand our reach
Enhance participant engagement
Increase our ability to adapt
Let’s keep serving — and let’s do it together.
